Promoting PrEP on Dating Sites and Apps

Dating sites and apps provide access to millions of individuals who can benefit from PrEP. They’re ideal for conveying accurate, user-friendly information and links to resources including HIV/STI testing sites and PrEP provider directories. In addition, through their design – in particular, profile options – they allow individuals to both disclose and search for partners according to their sexual health preferences, including PrEP, condoms, and treatment as prevention.

  • Carl Sandler, Daddyhunt

In this session, we will describe Building Healthy Online Communities’ (BHOC) successes – and challenges – in promoting PrEP through these strategies by strengthening collaboration between health departments and CBOs and the owners of sites/apps. We will also show a sneak preview of a new webseries and PSAs promoting PrEP and other sexual health strategies, created by Daddyhunt in collaboration with BHOC. We also want to hear from you about your ideas, successes, and challenges working on apps, and how we can best serve your needs.
