PrEP Access, Engagement and Uptake in Latinx Communities

The Latinx community is one of the fast growing populations, with a diverse set of challenges and opportunities when it comes to the interactions of their lives and prevention strategies around HIV. This session will snapshot of a variety of viewpoints about the state of integrating biomedical strategies into the prevention landscape. Though not a monolithic community, there are some shared experiences and considerations for making PrEP work for the Latinx community.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding ways to adapt cultural and linguistic services to support PrEP education and uptake
  • Being able to understand how PrEP might look different across the Latinx experience and how one can adapt to address that
  • Strategies for combating stigma that might hinder PrEP uptake in Latinx communities
